Forest Companion, also known as Nyxo, is a personal companion app for reflection, habits, rituals, mood notes, food analysis, and AI-assisted conversations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information, such as your user identifier, email address, and Apple Sign-In information.
• Profile and preference information, including onboarding answers, companion settings, language preferences, and app configuration.
• User content, such as chat messages, reflections, notes, rituals, habit records, mood entries, memories, and other content you choose to create.
• Photos, videos, or audio that you choose to provide for features such as food analysis, voice input, or companion interactions.
• Health, wellness, food, or mood-related information that you choose to enter or generate in the app.
• Purchase and subscription information needed to provide paid features and manage entitlements.
• App interaction, diagnostic, crash, and performance information used to maintain and improve the app.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, personalize, and sync app features.
• Authenticate accounts and maintain user sessions.
• Generate AI responses, summaries, memory features, and analysis when you request them.
• Process subscriptions, purchases, and app entitlements.
• Improve reliability, safety, performance, and user experience.
• Respond to support, privacy, or account requests.

AI and Service Providers

We may use trusted service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, backend services, and realtime features; Apple services for Apple Sign-In, in-app purchases, and app distribution; Google Gemini for AI-generated responses and analysis; and OpenAI for voice transcription when you use voice input. Content you submit to an AI feature may be sent to the relevant provider only to complete your request. We share information with these providers only as needed to provide the requested features, maintain the service, or comply with legal obligations.

Tracking and Advertising

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Data may be stored on secure cloud services and transmitted using encrypted connections where supported. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention and International Processing

Account data and content are generally retained while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account from within the app. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, security logs, transaction records, or where retention is required by law. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other regions where they operate, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Your Choices

You can manage app permissions, such as camera, microphone, photos, and notifications, in iOS Settings. You can delete your account and associated cloud data from the app's account settings. You may also request access, correction, account deletion, or deletion of personal information by contacting us.

Children

Forest Companion is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child where parental consent is required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
